New Technologies

Here are just a few examples of some of the newest and coolest technology that Compunet can install for you.

Sonos

The Sonos system is an elegant, wireless multiroom music solution with an intuitive user interface that thinks the way you do. You can share your iTunes library stored on a computer or NAS (network attached storage) device, an almost unlimited selection of music, talk and other programs from Internet Radio, Rhapsody, Pandora Radio, Sirius Satellite Radio, last.fm, Napster or any external audio source.

The Sonos system can accommodate from 2 to 32 zones or rooms in a home. It uses SonosNet, a wireless mesh network that provides reliable whole-house coverage compared to a central hub network that broadcasts a signal from a single point. With SonosNet, each room acts as a separate wireless hub with wide coverage and, very important, audio synchronization between rooms with no audio delay.

The entire system is controlled with the Sonos CR200 Controller, a uniquely simple hand-held remote with a bright, easy-to-read LCD touch display that is one of the coolest parts or the Sonos system. Even better, Apple has a free application that can be downloaded to your iPhone or iPod Touch to control the Sonos system and can be used with or as an alternative to the Sonos CR200 Controller. Each of the components can be purchased individually or in a pre-packaged bundle with zone players and the Sonos CR200 Controller. The Sonos system can be expanded with additional zone players and speakers to add more zones or rooms as needed.

Yamaha YSP 5100
When it comes to innovation, sometimes less is more: the YSP-5100, for example.  It’s much thinner than previous YSP models for a slimmer, more elegant  appearance appropriate for your HDTV or OLED TV. Yet its room-filling surround  sound is spectacular. Slightly wider than its smaller cousin, the YSP-4100 DSP,  the YSP-5100 has two extra 1″ balanced-dome tweeters to accommodate larger-size HDTVs. The YSP-5100 Digital Sound Projector offers great new features  like HD Audio decoding, 1080p-compatible HDMI (4 in and 1 out), IntelliBeam  calibration, UniVolume, and numerous listening modes. Also included are two yAired wireless accessories for connecting to your iPod/iPhone and wireless subwoofer.

The YSP-5100 uses Yamaha’s sophisticated Digital Sound Projector (DSP)technology to precisely control the orientation of the sound by focusing it through multiple beams. The center channel sound is heard directly, while sounds from other channels are heard after reflecting off walls. The result is true multi-channel surround sound that sounds just like a multi-speaker system–but without the need for extra speakers.

And it works in any room. Yamaha’s eleven CINEMA DSP program settings are guaranteed to create thrillingly realistic soundscapes no matter what your room’s dimensions. The main mode is5-Beam + 2 for 7-channel sources, but you can also choose from 3-Beam + Stereo + 2, 5-Beam, 3-Beam + Stereo, 3-Beam or Stereo, depending on the type of source and your room acoustics, so you’ll always be able to get the right sound from your space.
